Overview
Athletics at Nenahnezad Community School
At Nenahnezad Community School, we believe in the power of sports to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and character development among our students. We are excited to offer a variety of sports through the Four Directions Sports League, providing opportunities for our students to explore their athletic abilities and develop a love for sportsmanship.
All student/athletes are students first and athletes second. Participating in sporting events is a privilege and may be revoked for poor grades or serious behavior infractions. We emphasize the importance of balancing academics with athletics, ensuring that our students prioritize their education while also enjoying the benefits of participating in sports.
Please note that the sports listed are dependent on there being enough coaches and players volunteering. Without dedicated coaches and willing participants, some sports may not be available during certain seasons. We encourage parents, teachers and community members to get involved and support our athletics program by volunteering as coaches or assisting with team management.
Here are the sports offered through our athletics program:
- Cross Country: Cross country is a sport that encourages endurance, perseverance, and a love for the great outdoors. Students will have the chance to explore different terrains while building their strength and stamina.
- Flag Football: Flag football is a fun and exciting way for students to learn the fundamentals of football in a safe and inclusive environment. Whether they're on offense or defense, students will develop skills in strategy, agility, and teamwork.
- Volleyball: Volleyball is a fast-paced and dynamic sport that emphasizes communication, coordination, and quick reflexes. Students will learn the fundamentals of serving, passing, and hitting while working together to set up the perfect play.
- Basketball: Basketball is a classic sport that promotes agility, coordination, and strategic thinking. Students will learn fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting while also developing important values like sportsmanship and perseverance.
- Softball: Softball is a popular sport that combines elements of baseball with a softer ball and a smaller field, making it accessible for young athletes. Students will learn the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and base running while enjoying friendly competition with their peers.
- Baseball: Baseball is a beloved sport for players of all ages. Students will learn the fundamentals of throwing, catching, and hitting while also developing important skills such as teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
Our athletics program is designed to provide students with opportunities for physical activity, skill development, and personal growth. Whether they're competing on the field or cheering from the sidelines, we encourage all students to embrace the values of sportsmanship, respect, and dedication.
