Student Life at Nenahnezad Community School
Nenahnezad Community School Tigers benefit from an exciting and enlightening student life that prepares them for middle school, high school, graduation and beyond. Our young scholars develop in a Navajo-centered learning environment with an educational program that encourages activities and opportunities that promote the overall well-being of every student.
Athletics
At Nenahnezad Community School, we believe in the power of sports to promote physical fitness, teamwork and character development. We are excited to offer a variety of sports through the Four Directions Sports League, providing opportunities for our students to explore their athletic abilities and develop a love for sportsmanship.
Navajo Language/Culture
Students and teachers take every opportunity to engage in the education and expression of our Navajo language and culture. Nenahnezad Community School’s staff and community are integral to our educational program, preparing Navajo youth with Native cultural studies and activities to promote Tribal identity and global awareness.
STEM
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are exciting fields of study for Nenahnezad students interested in science, math or problem-solving. Students who participate in STEM projects learn to develop new ideas, conduct research and develop new technical skills. The STEM program provides workshops that prepare students for 21st-century careers and lives.
After school Tutoring
Every student can receive additional instruction and guidance beyond our regular classroom hours. Our afterschool tutoring program provides tailored one-on-one support, allowing students to learn independently with strategies that best suit their individual needs. Teachers and staff can supplement classroom instruction while focusing on a student’s individual needs.
21st Century Program
The 21st Century Program provides diverse learning opportunities in core academic subjects such as reading, math and science. Students participate in enrichment programs that introduce practical skills and knowledge bases. Extracurricular activities in art, music, business and technology are an excellent addition to our standard academic programs.
